AHAT Community Schools Network
Through its Labour Community school education program AHAT seeks to help and, over time, empower poverty ridden females by providing them an opportunity to set up non formal home based community schools for imparting primary education to 5 to 16 year old out-of-school children. AHAT currently supporting 15 such female-run community schools in Lahore, Kasur, Faisalabad and Bahawal Nagar, which provide primary education to more than 1,200 children and thus keeps them off the streets and affords them a chance to educate, learn, and, hopefully, transition into productive citizens.
Many of these informal home schools lack basic infrastructure such as furniture, library resources and textbooks. Whereas AHAT does as much as it can to make sure these children have access to a good quality of education through fee subsidies and training programs for teachers; a lot still needs to be done. Therefore, AHAT is currently in the process of upgrading its home schools in terms of infrastructure and facilities. In this regard, AHAT is seeking to collaborate with like-minded individuals or organizations that would like to contribute to this endeavor. Get in touch with us to learn more about how you can help!
